Life In The Cold

this project was meant to teach us how to write testable experiment. our project was testing the isolative properties of snow.

Rube Project

For this rube, the project requirements were that our rube had to have 12 steps, and that it employs a simple machine.  An object had to be raised or projectilled at least 12 inches.  The rube needed to work from start to finish without any assistance.  We had to have professional dress, and we print the display of our analysis of the rube.

Our rube goal was to pour a glass of water without any spills. Our idea at the beginning was that it was supposed to make hot cocoa with boiling the water, but once we started the process of building and testing, we learned that a lot of this was not possible due to material limitation, so we changed to a more simple idea.

Our rube actually had 13 steps one of which projected an object 12".  Our rube was working very well for that whole day of the exhibition, until the time that the people showing up, and then it was not working well at all.

We printed out our analysis, and displayed our rube at the exhibition, although I found it embarrassing that it wasn't working at the time of the exhibition.  This was very stressful for me.

The hardest part of this project was working together/communication with my group.  We had a hard time deciding on what we were going to do for the next step, and how we were going to get there.

My biggest contribution to the project was the ideas of the steps, followed by design of a majority of the steps, and then their construction.  I would like to do this project again with a different idea and group, both of which I would hope work consistently.
