Student-Driven Campus Design

Picture
In this project we set out to learn as much about architecture and design thinking as we could and then design a new school campus for Animas High School. The goal was to create a campus designed by students for students and all other users and then presents our campuses to the board of directors. We spend lots of time learning how to use SketchUp to create realistic 3D models of our buildings and campus.

I learned a lot about SketchUp and how to use it. Spent lots of time learning to use it and eventually designed a cafeteria that we used in our  campus. How to use SketchUp is a skill that I will take away from this project in apply to other projects in the future. (See below)

Something that stood out to me was how we did the classes in the morning.   I enjoyed the way we had the classes set up quite a bit. Most difficult part of this project Praise of Shadows. This was difficult  because I have trouble reading and I did not find the article very interesting or engaging. I have grown as a carburetor quite a bit I believe, me and my group worked well together and completed all our work on time.

I do believe it is important for students to have a strong voice and what their facilities and schools look like. Is important because not all students are the same and it is important for them to have to have spaces equipped just as well to teach them as it is for the students sitting next to them.
